Here at Shotbowl, Peterborough, we have been specialising in embroidered clothing and printing for over 25 years.
From initially starting off with a single head embroidery machine to simply add customers names to their clothing, we have expanded into a full-scale production facility. With two six head embroidery machines, a single head embroidery machine, vinyl cutter, sublimation printer, and toner printers we can cover all your branding needs.

Embroidery
Embroidery is the main go-to method for most chest logos. It is by far the most durable method for decoration. With our in-house design team we can convert your logo into a digitised version. There is no minimum order when it comes to embroidery which makes it great for small repeat orders.
Advantages
- Embroidery has few restrictions as to where it can go.
- We can embroider onto most fabrics.
- It can be as a chest logo or back logos.
- Lots of colours of threads to choose from.
- Very durable.
Disadvantage
- If you reduce the logo/wording too much, it can become messy and illegible.
- Heavy logo’s on thin material can cause the material to pull and pucker.
- Detailed logos or logos with fading in the graphics are hard to replicate.
Vinyl Printing
Vinyl Printing is perfect for simple logos and decorations. We use the highest grade of vinyl which can be washed up to 80°. This was designed with the hospitality industry in mind that requires their garments to be washed at high temperatures to kill bacteria. When used on normal corporate and sports clothing that is only washed at a standard 30° – 40°, it will generally last longer than the garment itself.
Advantages
- Much lighter than embroidery and gives a sharper look to the logo.
- Can be applied to a range of fabrics.
- As it sits on top of the fabric it will not cause puckering.
- Our Vinyl does not crack like many cheap vinyls on the market.
- Ideal for large decorations.
- Very durable.
Disadvantage
- Can not reproduce fades and shades.
- Not ideal for 4/5+ coloured logos.
- Not ideal for small intricate detail.
Digital Print
Digital Vinyl Printing is a method where designs are printed onto vinyl material. The printed vinyl is then cut and heat-pressed onto garments This technique allows for vibrant, full-colour designs with a durable finish, making it a popular choice for personalised apparel and promotional clothing.
Advantages
- Produces high-resolution images with rich colours and sharp details.
- Can be applied to cotton, polyester, and blended materials.
- No minimum order requirement, making it perfect for custom or one-off designs.
Disadvantage
- Vinyl sits on top of the fabric, creating a slightly thicker feel compared to DTG or screen printing.
- May crack or peel over time, especially on stretchy or frequently washed garments.
DTG (Direct To Garment)
Direct-to-Garment (DTG) Printing is a method of printing designs directly onto fabric using specialised inkjet technology. This process allows for high-quality, full-colour prints with intricate details on garments like t-shirts, hoodies, and other cotton-based fabrics.
Advantages
- High-Quality Prints – Produces detailed, vibrant, and full-colour designs with smooth gradients.
- Capable of printing detailed and complex artwork with many colours without additional setup costs.
- Ink is absorbed into the fabric rather than sitting on top, resulting in a soft, more comfortable finish.
Disadvantage
- Limited Fabric Compatibility, which works best on 100% cotton; less effective on polyester or dark synthetic fabrics.
- Prints may fade faster than screen-printed designs, especially with improper care.
- Quality of print is not as high as vinyl print.
Glitter Vinyl
Glitter Vinyl Printing is very similar to standard vinyl printing and again is perfect for simple logos and decorations. These are really popular for personal prints or prints that need to standard out and look a bit more eye-catching.
Advantages
- Much lighter than embroidery and gives a sharper look to the logo.
- Can be applied to a range of fabrics.
- As it sits on top of the fabric it will not cause puckering.
- Our Vinyl does not crack like many cheap vinyls on the market.
- Ideal for large decorations.
- Very durable.

- Not ideal for 4/5+ coloured logos.

Flock
Flock is used in a similar way to vinyl. The main difference is that it is thicker and is generally used to create a raised texture to decoration. Very popular in American style fonts and themes.
Advantages
- Much lighter than embroidery and gives a sharper look to the logo.
- Can be applied to a range of fabrics.
- As it sits on top of the fabric it will not cause puckering.
- Ideal for large decorations.
- Very durable.
- Can be used in conjunction with Sublimation so extra patterns can be created.
Disadvantage
- Not ideal for small intricate detail.
- Can not layer Flock on top of one another.
